September is a great time to visit Germany, especially if you are one of the thousands of Sun customers using Sun Grid Engine to manage your HPC cluster. This is a hands-on technical workshop, where you can learn first hand from the Sun Grid Engine engineers how to make optimal use of Sun Grid Engine. Can't wait until September to learn more? Download the recently updated Sun Grid Engine 6.1 and register for 30 days of free email support.

New Highlights specific for Sun Grid Engine 6.1

  • Flexible Resource Quotas
  • Boolean operators for requesting resources
  • Latest DRMAA 1.0 Java and C-language binding industry-standard API support
  • Support for new platforms (Linux on IA64 Intel and Mac OS x for Intel)
  • Solaris 10 DTrace support for bottleneck analysis

Sorry, DTrace (Dynamic Tracing) is only available on Solaris. If you are using another operating system, as your OS vendor why they have not implemented DTrace yet.

Really Cool, SGE6.1! I heard that the SGE6.1 will not go to open source Grid Engine project. Is that true? Or just anything minor changes related to the marketing side.
