Watching The Elections Online
More than any national election in history, today's US elections can be tracked live via hundreds or perhaps thousands of sites, from low bandwidth PHP scrips to CNN and of course Google' election map.
I've removed the embedded Google election map, now that we all know who won it is seriously annoying to wait for it to load.
Someday, we may even be able to vote online. I'll make one profound prediction, the buildout of network infrastructure will continue for the next four years and in 2012 there will be even more election coverage online.

As someone concerned about the transparency and trust in elections, I hope this never happens!
When I watched news coverage of elections in Iraq and Afghanistan, conducted with paper ballots, translucent ballot boxes (ensuring they start empty), and indelible ink to mark people as having voted once, I wondered why we can't have those sorts of simple low-tech anti-election-fraud measures in the US...
