Google's first hit for LDAP browser took me to the LDAP Browser/Editor by Jarek Gawor. Using LDAP Browser/Editor with OpenDS is straightforward.
Get OpenDS installed with sample data to browse.
Note: I needed to set Java WebStart to use the proxy specifically. There seemed to be some trouble inheriting the proxy settings from Firefox.

Download LDAP Browser/Editor, unpack the download, and start the LDAP browser.

Create a new session to connect to OpenDS.
If you want to be edit rather than just browse, you need to bind as a user having the right to update LDAP entries.

Connect using the new session.

If you have a Mac, also check out Trey's entry on using OpenDS to hold your addresses.
