Who Am I?

I am not a woman ;)

First of all I should say my name is Marian. This name is known almost only as a woman's one in a lot of English-speaking countries, but I am sure I am a man ;) .

Sun & Me, or Me & Sun

We both meet few years ago. My first contact with Sun Microsystems was 8 years ago, when I started my diploma work I used Java version 1.2. I moved to Prague in 2000 and started at Sun Microsystems as NetBeans Quality Assurance Engineer. It was wonderful time: free breakfast/dinner/drinks in office,parties more often than work, everybody were smiling, Sun was shining and the stock price was very high, what a pity it was long time ago.

Career at Sun

I started at Sun as regular QA team member, after a hard time when people were leaving Sun(willingly or not) I moved to my current position: team-leader of Core/Platform Quality Assurance. I am also a member of NetBeans Performance team.

Slovakia

This is difficult to explain to people, those know just their “great country”, but I'll try ...
I was born in Czechoslovakia. This country peacefully split into two countries in 1993: The Czech Republic and Slovakia. I am Slovak, but I am temporary living in Prague (The Czech Republic). Just a note: both countries are located in Central Europe.
