Or at least I was. Earlier today when the thermometer climbed above 38 C (== 100 F for the Celsius challenged in the audience), I had a hard time to keep my thoughts focused on the work at hand. My mind kept drifting towards, ice cream, cold beer, ciapirinhas and swimming pools.
The work I was trying to do were prototyping a change in
audit
and
auditd
to use
libdoor(3LIB)
instead of signals to communicate.
I've gotten tired of having to put sleep 5 in my scripts when I rotate the audit log with
audit -n,
as it just sends a signal to auditd and doesn't know when the operation has completed.

Around 19:30 the temperature had dropped down to a measly 28 C, so I put on my running shoes and went for a run along Praia do Flamengo to clear my head. Talk about sweating like a pig, but it did feel good once I had forced myself to complete the 4 km run.
Now in the evening I've been finishing up some initial testing,
and tomorrow I'll put the changes into
audit and auditd,
and see if it works.
It is nice when the US has public holidays, since I can work on my pet projects, as no one is bugging me about what I really should be doing...
