ok guys,

i got two things for you... if you're interested in identity  management or opteron, read immediately below... if not you can skip down to find out about my problems with critters.

sun hosts this program called Expert Exchange. It's a chat involving technical heavy hitters engaged in online dialogue. any question is fair game... there two coming up:

Identity Management: Solutions for Enterprise Identity Crisis, May 6, 10 a.m. pacific

The Opteron Edge: Faster Computing. Faster Business, May 11, 10 a.m. pacific

register by going to sun.com/expertexchange

so here's my problem with critters...

(and i'm only telling you this because i count you among my closest friends)

it all started when i found a dead rat outside in the back yard. the next day i found another one in the front yard. (are my neighbors trying to tell me something?) then, walking my kid to school we saw a dead rat on the sidewalk. i called my municipal authority. a rat inspector came out. he said i might have rats living undeneath the shed outside... maybe not... put poison down just in case. i'm all over that. hate rats.

then i found snakes. i was putting down mulch and underneath the gutter downspout thing (green, plastic) i found a snake. i don't think it's right to kill snakes, but i didn't really want to look at it either, so i just buried it with mulch.i'm ok if the snake dies, i just don't want to be the one who kills it. i mention this to my neighbor who goes ballistic... don't kill the snakes... she gave me all the reasons why but i won't bore you with them here...

(why can't the snakes eat the rats)

now i've got ants... ants, ants everywhere... it doesn't help that i have kids who lick a lollipop once and then leave it lying around the house... next day covered with swarming ants.

and then, just to make my life oh-so-complete, i got the sasser worm.

oh happy day.

that's what i get for not running JDS

the lessons i've learned...

  1. don't feel sorry for rats. kill as many of them as you can.
  2. snakes are good, even if they're yucky.
  3. i can live in harmony with ants.. they actually help me clean up the trail of cherrios and goldfish crumbs my kids leave
  4. i'm an idiot for not installing the jds cd i've had on my desks for months.

don't let it happen to you, people... get jds... install it today.

for a limited time, i will personally send to you a bootable CD of JDS to the first 5 people who send me email.

who loves you, baby?

mary

p.s. my region is about to be invaded with cidadas. don't you wish you were me?
