i know what it feels like to be on top of the world.

i know this because my kid (number 1) is on top of the world today...

1. it's the last day of school in her kindergaten year
2. no school means no bedtime
3. it's the first day of summer, the longest day of the year
4. this means she'll be in the backyard until way after dark catching fire flies and putting them in a pickle jar with holes poked into the cap.
5. and to top off her absolutely perfect day, she's going to go to sleep tonight just a little different than she was when she went to sleep last night -- tonight, she's 6 years old.

she's on top of the world. and so am i.
