Explicitly and without apology a marketing vehicle MaryMaryQuiteContrary

guess what.

i got a new favorite blogger.

(sorry Geoff. I know it was short-lived. it was good while it lasted.)

David Edmondson.

Why?
  1. Super smart guy
  2. Father of planetsun.org -- which aggregates all Sun employee blogs -- all of them
  3. He's been blogging since May 2002, making him an elder statement in the blog community (dont' really want to hear from you guys who've been doing it since the invention of the internet, ok? please back off on the reply button)
  4. He's a Solaris engineer. And I'm soon going to be a Solaris 10 Girl, in addition to being a Sun Ray Girl because we're going to give my old laptop a new life. Just stay tuned on that one. Meanwhile, i've got something for you to tide you over... a little sampler to whet the appetite -- the doctor is in (the kernel).
Welcome, David Edmonson to my bookmark file. (still haven't figured out the whole RSS feed thing; how scary is that? told you, clueless marketing girl. and you didn't believe me.) And thank you for the contributions you've made all around here at Sun. You rock!

big kiss!

mary

p.s. Alan Coopersmith let me know his favorite thing about Dave - the Sun-branded MP3 player in his car. Alan tells me for his own car, a version based on the new Sun Java Workstation would be a much better fit. well isn't it coincidence that there just happens to be one of those hotties on ebay right now.

want to know how to create and use temporary images to speed complex rendering tasks; cache those operations in images and just call drawImage() instead?

happy face

here's where you go to find out how.
