Courage.

it's what makes us different.

we have the courage of our convictions.

we have the courage to stand behind our customers and our communities.

we have the courage to stand behind our technologies.

to the tune of $92 million dollars.

last week, Sun paid $92 million to settle litigation with Kodak where they claimed patent infringement on our technologies.

As a result of the settlement, Sun receives a license for all Kodak patents for the benefit of Java technology.

Basically what this means to customers worldwide, and the global community of 4 million+ Java developers, is that Sun will stand behind its products and intellectual property.

Sun indemnifies.

(or as one my bookmarked bloggers put it, Sun is "legally standing 100 percent behind everything it says, and sells which is more than can be said of some other technologies and solution providers.)

Courage.

It's what sets us apart.

It's what makes me so proud to be a Sun Microsystems employee.
