OK, you guys... here's a quick look at what's hot on my radar...
- Remember Melissinos...
Chief Gaming Officer... that guy I stalk... remember how I managed to
work the angles so that he and I report to the same boss... staff
meetings... i gotta sit next to somebody... anyway... really neat-o conversation with him
on Java games. I make it my business to know all there is to know
about Chris,
including the fact that he drilled a hole through
his thumb.
- Researchers from the Next
Generation Crypto team
at Sun Labs have created the world's smallest
secure web server. It's nicknamed Sizzle (from SSSL for Slim SSL). It's the size of a U.S. twenty-five
cent coin and is designed to
be embedded in stuff like utility meters, sprinkler systems, personal
medical devices
and such for secure monitoring and control
across the Internet. Pretty neat-o, eh?! Here's more
on that one. There's even a picture.
- Developer tool with a bite -- the Reef Shark release of Java Studio Creator. Check it out.
- I'm seriously thinking about submitting
a session for JavaOne. I need to quick think of an angle. Because I
only have until January 31 to submit. Maybe I can talk Dr. Josh Bloch
and Dr. Neal Gafter into letting me be part of their act.. like
Vanna...except not as thin... or as tall... or as silent... I got
pretty dresses and strappy sandals though ;-) In all seriousness, I'm
just dying to get to have one of those speaker ribbons on my badge. I'm
seriously aching to have one of those. So I'm actually half-way serious
about trying to come up with a session proposal.
- My number-two-all-time-favorite Brazilian Java developer -- Michael (i call him
Miguel) Nascimentos Santos has above-the-fold coverage of his blog
on java.net today. Vanessa
is my number one all time favorite Brazilian Java developer, in case
you were wondering. 1. She's better looking (no offense, Miguel); 2. She sent
me a Christmas card.
"He who laughs last thinks slowest."
