It's been such a crazy week.
Tonight my eldest had soccer practice.
I forgot about until 15 mins after it started. So it was a mad scramble to get out of the door with shin guards, water bottles and soccer balls flying everywhere during the chaotic rush to car with my soccer player leading the way and her younger sister and brother in tow.
It's been really crazy busy on the work front lately, so needless to say, I didn't really have a plan for dinner. And my sweetheart was working late tonight.
So I took the kids to the Gyro place in our neighborhood for dinner after soccer practice.
As we approached the restaurant there was a young couple in front of us, walking to their car, which was parked right outside the restaurant.
We got our food, sat down and started eating.
Right outside the window of the restaurant stood this couple. They were completely engrossed in one another. It seemed like they didn't want to say good-bye to each other. So they kept talking, and talking. They were smiling and animated and looked completely happy.
Throughout dinner, I'd look out of the window and each time I was surprised to see they were still there. Talking and talking. She'd reach over and touch his shoulder. He'd touch her hair. And they'd both keep smiling and talking.
And it reminded me...
I guess we all have a story of what this sceene would remind you of...
But it made me happy to see it.
My life gets so hectic sometimes. Three kids. A husband. A job. So many balls in the air all at once.
Today I got to remember what it feels like to have only one thing that matters to you most. And to be completely oblivious to time. And to live fully and completely in the moment.
It was nice to remember that.
It made me happy.
