Explicitly and without apology a marketing vehicle MaryMaryQuiteContrary

Every once in a while, I get an email and I think to myself: "MaryMary, this would make a perfect blog entry."

(Except I don't actually call myself MaryMary. Not even in the privacy of my own head. And I bet you'd be surprised at the things I do in the privacy of my own head.  :-)

So check out what landed in the inbox today from my good ol' pal Gunner -- aka Allen Gunn, Executive Director of Aspiration.

Hi Mary,

I hope this finds you well. Can't believe how long it's been since our
event in Menlo Park!

We are organizing a code sprint/code review for an open source
simulation/learning platform being developed by the United States
Institute of Peace (www.usip.org). The entire platform is being
developed with J2EE/Tomcat/Hibernate, and the code will be released
under GPL.

I'm wondering if you know of any Java/J2EE engineers at Sun and in the
Sun network who might be open to participating in the code review part
of our event? It will take place from 10am to 2pm on September 12th, in
SF at the our Nonprofit Technology Center at 10th and Mission. I can
send more info to anyone who might be interested.

Thanks in advance for any guidance and contacts you might be able to share!

peace,
gunner

Comments:

Where as I do tend to call you MaryMary in my head.

Also your grey on white theme is a bit low on contrast for reading.

I suppose that's OK. I call the Queen of England "Her Majesty" in my head. It's kind of the same, right?

(wink, wink.)

I hear you on the grey on white. I'll fix that...
