Date night

Not to (further) impose on you with the mundane life of a happily married working mother of three children, but last weekend was date night.

We have date night every other weekend.

LOVE IT.

It's one of the best things we've done since our kids were born. Highly recommend it to all you  parents out there.

I got to pick where we're going and what we're doing this last weekend.

I chose laser tag. And then Thai for dinner.

It was awesome.

If you didn't mind the fact that we were the only adults playing.

And everybody else was a 14-year-old-boy.

But I got over that quickly when the little punks kept picking me off.

(I mean that in the nicest possible way.)

All in all, liked laser tag.  A lot.

I mentioned it to a friend who told me if I liked laser tag, I'd love paint ball.

I'm all over that. As soon as the snow melts, I'm going to make that happen.

The love of my live (aka my better half) has a slight advantage... he served in the Army... special forces...

But I do OK. I've had my own boot camp. At DSW :-)

(That's an inside joke for all the ladies out there.)

So how's that for a day in the life.

:-)

Mary

Be careful. Paint ball can leave you with welts all over!

Date Night is actually pretty common among the married-with-kids crowd. Our most recent Date Night was actually a whole day - our boys, ages (almost)9 and 10, went on their first all-day skiing & snow-boarding trip w/o us. We took the day, after dropping the boys off at the chaperoned bus at 6:45am, to first sleep in and then go downtown to visit the new Art Museum in Denver. After a couple leisurely hours of looking at the exhibits, we headed into LoDo where we had a late lunch at McCormicks. Highly recommended that couples structure this into their relationship...
