Sun released our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report this week.
So what's interesting (to me) about that isn't just we achieved some major milestones.....
Highlights of our 2008 performance include:
-- Sun surpassed our goal of achieving a 20% reduction in U.S. GHG emissions over 2002 levels by 2012. We actually achieved a 23% reduction by the end of fiscal 2008, resulting in an estimated energy cost savings of more than $5 million in 2007 alone. Going forward we are excited to extend this success with our next GHG goal: To reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO2 emissions from global operations by 20% over 2007 levels by 2015.
-- All of Sun's top-tier contract manufacturers have signed and agreed to adhere to Sun's Code of Conduct for our supply chain.
-- Participation in Worldwide Volunteer Week was up 84% in 2008.
What's really cool about Eco -- Ecology and Economy -- is that at Sun, it takes on a first-person perspective; a first-person opportunity; a first-person responsibility and sense of ownership.
Hot Shot Techno Celeb (and close personal friend, not to brag) Arshan Poursohi talks about what makes his job an Eco job.
One word: Oustanding.
Check out the Corporate Social Responsibility report, people.
It's all really good stuff.

I am working on a project with Arshan as well.
I must agree with you - he is a "hot shot techno celeb" :-) seriously he is "outstanding" and represents the type high caliber person and professional that is Sun Microsystems.
