it's Friday. and you know what that means...

Free Stuff!

Free Stuff for everybody this week, people!

totally serious.

i'm going to put a spring in your step and a song in your heart.

and if you like it, you can go ahead and put that song in your phone. your java powered phone. (that part's not free)

here's where you go... Warner Mobile Music Streaming Jukebox..

Take a listen to - Jet, Brandy, Big & Rich, Ryan Cabrera, and more!

where's the hub for this kind of stuff... Java.com. so much cool stuff here... we're going to explore...

in fact, i got a fabulous package of prizes here...
picture of prizes...

a hat, a t-shirt, a frisbee and a button....

i've even got...
package of prizes

tattoos...

and it all goes to the person who replies to the comments section of this blog with their favorite thing about java.com.

easy as that.

happy weekend people!

mary

p.s. this is not a contest. i arbitrarily pick the person to whom i give something that i personally own. i pay for shipping with stamps that i buy at the post office.

Comments:

Coolness, that's my favorite thing about java.com. ;)

Hi Mary, I have been a long subscriber to your blog and part of 187422+ "Mary" family. But I am surprised to find very less comments in your blogs. Not that there are un-interesting but personally I get an insight of worklife @ Sun. Regarding java.com, I find it amazing. Being a Java developer, I get to see newer technologies, get Alerts, and host of other utilities, games, wall papers, online library, soda constructor. I would like to expect a techie question next week Thanks > Manjunath

My favorite thing about java.com is that I can download a recording of Snoop Dog telling me to pick up my phone. Like he's in my pocket yelling out at me.

We saw him, actually, on our way home from Vegas in July -- he was opening at the House of Blues in the hotel we were staying at, checking in just as we were checking out. It was hard to miss him in the lobby: he's about 7 feet tall, canary yellow suit kind of thing. I was going to take him our hotel bill to autograph (it was the only thing I had handy to write on, except for like my arm or something), but my kids looked like they would positively kill me if I did. I get that look all the time and have learned to completely ignore it -- but Snoop's posse was close at hand looking equally disenchanted with my obvious idea, and them, I didn't think I should ignore.

So do I win the tattoo??

well what I live about Java.com is that it makes Java appeal to the general public. People hear their phone is Java enabled, but aren't sure what that means. So they go on to Java.com and they see what they can get. Hopefully they see it's a great language and spread the word about Java. So my favourite thing about java.com is that it's a great marketting tool for Java, which is what it needs. The site encourages a download of Java for your desktop system - you know you want it, cos then you get to run some cool stuff. It's a great showcase for some great Java based ideas too.

So that's why there's a preview option - so I don't make typo's as above ( I live about Java.com!!) Obviously I mean "I like about ... "

I won't lie just to get some free stuff. I dont't like java.com. I go to java.sun.com for all my Java needs.

Sorry, didn't mean to comment-spam you there. I reloaded the page to see if there were any more comments, and wound up re-posting mine. But let me take this opportunity to apologize to Mr. Dogg, who I understand spells his last name with Two G's rather than One. Can you imagine if I <u>had</u> made my way over to him in Vegas and mispronounced, even butchered his last name that way?

Oh.

It'd be pronounced the same, either way?

Never mind.
