I was in California last week, working from Sun's headquarters in the heart of Silicon Valley and attending Java Mobile and Embedded Developer Days.
(scroll down for the play-by-play on that).
Among many other important meetings.
(not telling. top secret.)
So, you know how distance makes the heart grow fonder?
When, when it comes to me and my Sun Ray, that's true... but not exactly in the traditional context of meaning...
Warning: public display of affection follows. Pls avert your gaze if this kind of thing makes you uncomfortable.
:-)
Love letter to my Sun Ray,
(It's nearly Valentine's Day, so this shouldn't surprise you (regular) readers :-)
Beloved Sun Ray,
On Friday, when I left you California, I was right in the middle of a whole bunch of work including re-posting a blog entry involving Barton Fiske and writing some important emails (among other things).
Well, as you know, I didn't quite finish up what I was working on before I had to get on a plane, so I logged off the Sun Ray in California to go get on a plane and travel to the other end of the North American continent.
Today, when I logged onto a Sun Ray here, you were waiting for me. My cursor still blinking exactly where I left it.
You stay true and faithful to me, Sun Ray. You steadfastly keep the cursor blinking for me -- from wherever I happen to be. I never take you anywhere with me, but wherever I go and find a Sun Ray.... I log in, and there you are... waiting for me... blinking.
If only all love could be so true. If only all love could be so faithful.
With great affection,
MaryMary
You know what else I love about my Sun Ray..... last week I used Sun Rays in more than five different physical locations and nobody thought any worse of me.
:-)
(I always Purell. I'm very careful that way.)
:-)
Mary

Dearest Mary,
From the very first Sun Ray 1 to the latest Sun Ray 270, we all feel the very same way about you.
Sincerely,
The Sun Ray Family of Thin Clients.

When will the SunRay be available for the non-sun employee home user? Letting others feel the love would be such a selfless act ;)

We so need to gang up on Barton Fiske and have him update his blog. 2 entries? I mean seriously ...
Being the former Technology Manager for Sun Ray (and the person who started that internal Sun Ray Technical Alias), I couldn't agree more on Sun Ray. If only it were given a chance ...
