Comments:

Hello Mary! I would like to recommend Rick Kenney for the internship. Rick is a guy who is well connected, remarkably technically proficient, and one who is an adroit user of new media, which I think would be something very desirable in this job.

Also, there have been several times when I have seen Rick go out of his way to help someone who is struggling with a new technical concept - which to is indicative of a high level of character. In 30 years of being in business, I've found hiring character first usually pays huge dividends.

Good Luck! If I may answer any other questions, I trust you will let me know!

I'd totally recommend rick, he's like a tantric jedi.

Rick is the best person, by far. Three reasons:

1) He's like a ninja, and a pirate, all rolled into one.
2) Rick CAN smell what the rock is cooking.
3) Rick's tears can cure cancer. But rick has never cried. Ever.

Rick is Jesus. Do you really need to know more about him than that? Hiring a deity is your best bet. He doesn't ever lie, he can't steal, and he's pretty much perfect in every single way.

Marketing? Look into this kid: Rick Kenney, marketing genius. He's orchestrating some clever way of locking down an internship position by way of viral-marketing-something-something. Whatever it is, it's awesome.

It should be obvious as to why that is applicable.

^ Sorry, that's me above. I just couldn't stop thinking about Rick Kenney long enough.

I don't understand how anyone could EVER stop thinking about Rick. He really is quite dreamy.

Posted by Carey Townsend on April 25, 2008 at 07:28 PM PDT #

If Rick Kenney wants a job with you, hire him. He recognizes a good thing when he sees it… I know, I’m his girlfriend.

:)

And yes, he is dreamy.

Rick is well hearsed in online communication and seems like he knows something. Figure that.

I can also enthusiastically recommend Mr. Rick Kenney. He's very sharp, focused, and reliable. He's been doing top notch work for our organization and I would hire him again in a moment. Let me know if you have any questions.

I cannot agree with proclamations of Rick's status as a religious deity. However, Rick did lead me through a spiritual awakening (the full story is available in my memoirs entitled "The Life of St. Andrew Remixed"). Here is an excerpt demonstrating Rick's powers:

"On the fourth day before there was light, Andrew refused to trust individuals with two first names. Steve John or Rachel Richard - neither could be trusted and prohibited Andrew from forming meaningful relationships. Then, descending from a hill in Nashville, Rick Kenney instilled the true spirit of dual first names..."

Since this epiphany, I have also learned to trust Rick's friend Kristen Nicole (that's correct, Rick is down with RockStar bloggers). Finally, I agree with the comment from Rick Kenney stating Rick Kenney's strong understanding of "viral marketing something something." A complex concept to grasp, but no problem for Rick.

I can recommend Rick Kenney. He taught me how to rock.

Rick Kenney is a pretty good guy -- but an even better employee i'm sure. You should definitely hire him ... lord knows he needs something to do this summer! He's responsible, very hard working and kinda smart :)! Plus, he loves it when you call him Ricky Martin. Who could ask for more??

Don't hire Rick Kenney. He just told me he's looking for an internship and Joyent is going to snap him up. srsly.

Please accept this message as an endorsement for Rick Kenney. He has been one of the experts on CenterNetworks and really knows his Internets. I think he would be a great intern at Sun and would totally bring SUNshine to everyone at the firm.

Rick is a student in my Media Relations class, and he is both creative and capable. He is always interested in applying our classroom experience to professional situations. I am impressed by the fact that he incorporates theoretical and practical, because I want every student in my classes to do that -- apply what they've learned in class "out there" in the professional world! I wish him the best of luck, and he has my endorsement. (Plus, he is a Red Sox fan like myself).

Rick is a student of mine. He is very bright and has good insight.

Mary, I am delighted to recommend Rick Kenney for an internship at Sun based on his work as a Peer Mentor for our university’s orientation course, APSU 1000. Rick takes the initiative and gives 110%, is prompt, and can deal with uncomfortable situations with integrity. I would be very happy to work with Rick again if there was an opportunity.

If I can answer any questions, let me know! Good luck!

Personally, I think this internship simply must go to Rick Kenney. He is a standup gentleman, a brilliant mind, and has somehow motivated myself (amongst many others) to publicly support him for this position. If he can do that just to get the internship, imagine what he'll do once he has it!

Seriously, Rick is a great guy and sharp as a tack. He will be amazing in this position!

Personally, I wouldn't hire Rick if I were you, because I'd want Rick to rock out using his skills for Nate Ritter. Nate won't pay as much (even as much as a free intern gets), he certainly wouldn't get fame for working for Sun, and he couldn't have the amazing impact that he naturally would get if he were working for Sun..

No, certainly don't hire him. He's better off being under-utilized and under-estimated.

Ah crap, who am I kidding. He'd be perfect for the job.

Very energetic and sharp bloke !! I worked with Rick for couple of months from the Paris office. And his ability to adapt to new environments and peers is grt !! Hell I've picked up few things from him.. I reckon that you should strongly consider hiring Rick.. You wont be disappointed.

As the other folks attest here, Rick is definitely the way to go ! He was a serious (not too serious) and conscientious intern with strong knowledge of the internet software scene when we worked together at XWiki on a variety of challenges such as rolling out our new web site and the XWiki partner program. Highly proactive fellow !

I don't even know Rick, but his approach here is totally unique and you should hire him.

I want to start the Rick Kenny Fan Club! Go Rick!

I like where you're going with the fan club idea (idolizing me), but I think everyone's underestimating my greatness. How 'bout something more appropriate, like an obelisk?

Thanks for your support everyone.

Rick worked for me over the past few years and he is the best employee I have ever had or will hope to have! You would be a bit on the nutty side to hire him, but even crazier not to.
