Explicitly and without apology a marketing vehicle MaryMaryQuiteContrary

Wednesday Jun 02, 2004

well, my friends... it has happened.

i'm a celebrity.

i was jamming through the pavillion this afternoon and i hear somebody calling me... "Are you Mary -- the one blogging... the MaryMaryQuiteContrary blog?"

Here's who it was...

It's Mark Blair from Macromedia.

You guys, i was so excited to have somebody recognize me, I nearly kissed the poor guy.

we chit-chatted a bit. he was very nice.

he told me he's got a blog and that he was going to link to my blog. i told him i'd do the same if he could tell me how... i don't really know how this stuff works... i'm a marketing girl, remember. don't really get the technical stuff.

anyway, we'll see if we can do some cross-pollenating there....

then i get back to my laptop to get a bit of work done... and i have fan email... from a colleague here at Sun... here's what he said (edited to protect his identity):

Comments:

I'm not quite sure how you protected your colleague's identity, considering that you provided a name, email address, work, and cell phone number. :-) On another note, it's always nice to get recognition from people you don't know. Good luck on the blog and your continued celebrity status.
