Explicitly and without apology a marketing vehicle MaryMaryQuiteContrary

So Valentine's Day is coming up.

February 14.

(Back in my single days, I used to hate Valentine's day; that and New Year's Eve... too much pressure... now -- for the past ten years, actually -- every day is Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve. wink. wink.)

Here's the deal...

Through a convoluted string of "I know somebody who knows somebody who knows..."

We are looking for love... Java love...

So the idea is to find real-life love connections that have happened in the Java community. Hey, maybe the initial hook-up happened at JavaOne? (that would play too perfectly into my hands; my hopes aren't that high.)

Which brings us to...

Open Letter to the Java Community Love Birds

Please email me: mary.smaragdis-AT-sun.com.

And tell me about your Java love connection.

(let's keep it clean, people. this is a family-rated program.)

kiss, kiss!

mary

Comments:

While in India, I used to work in the emerging technologies division of my company. This was way back in 1999, when Java was an emerging technology. Our group used to handle all the Java related projects (other guys used to do C++, VC, VB and all the other stuff). One day, I had to go and meet someone (who would eventually become the love of my life aka my wife) for some Java related evangalism. So, I'd say that Java kinda helped me find my wife :-)

Love is a path to the heart that knows its own way.
