just when you thought i couldn't sink any lower...

here's a picture of what i'm having for lunch.

picture of my lunch
lentil soup. olives. bagel chips.

(i just got off my boss' staff meeting; hadn't eaten; go downstairs to get lunch; the digital camera was on the counter; couldn't resist.)

eating at my desk today.

still got tons of unread email to deal with.

Could you please unsubscribe from javablogs? Your adolescent undying passion for your company is already tiresome in itself (unless you're under 20 years old, which the punctuation seems to indicate), but seeing this on javablogs is downright annoying. What's next, are you going to blog your next visit to the bathroom?

and you know something else, Mr Anonymous Dude who likes to leave me nastygrams... if you're not passionate about what you do and you are still investing the precious minutes you have on this earth doing it... well, i'd call that an IQ test ... so why don't you go invest the energy you put into sending me nastygrams into finding something that you can be passionate about? and leave me alone. oh, and one other thing... don't talk to me about maturity... the fact that you're hiding behind the skirts of an anonymous moniker tells me all i need to know about your level of maturity.behind the skirts of an anonymous moniker tells me all i need to know about your level of maturity.

Look, Mary, I have nothing against you, it's your weblog, you can write what you please. But syndicating your blog to javablogs comes some obligations, one of them being to blog about Java. This etiquette is observed by thousands of Java bloggers and readers around the world every day, I was hoping you would at least respect that, even if you're not a Java developer yourself. By the way, I'm no longer anonymous. You were right, I feel much more mature now.

Simon, i blog about java. look at the categories at the top of my blog... All | General | Java | Music. if you click on java you'll see how much i blog about java. this very minute on the front page of javablos Lasse says he found out about the Multi-tasking Virtual Machine from me. (http://radio.javaranch.com/channel/lasse/2004/08/03/1091556293000.html) i'm not out here to annoy you. i'm really not. while my blog admittedly is packed full of stupid snippets from my life, i actually come through with some interesting stuff now and again. how's this for a negotiated settlement... i'll see if i can figure out a way so that only the java entries are picked up by javablogs. i have no idea whether that's possible. but i'll look into it. and if i can "submit" only java-specific entries to javablogs i'll do that. i'd like to kindly point out that this very minute on the front page of javablogs is a little diddy on what lostboy did over the weekend (http://www.ldodds.com/blog/archives/000149.html).

Mary, it's very easy to subscribe just the Java category to Javablogs, I'm sure your Sun coworkers can explain this to you.

As for posting "interesting stuff", this is a judgment call better left to your readers (those who don't work at Sun). You might be surprised by the results.

Finally, something for you to think about: how would you like it to read a blog where the author keeps enumerating all these great coworkers who are his "close personal friends" and of whom you have never heard of... ?

whatever. look, if you don't like me there's a really simple way to resolve that -- stop reading my blog. it seems to me that a very fundamental concept is being lost here -- this blog is about me, my perspective. it is what it is. i will figure out the java category thing on javablogs. we'll resolve that issue in the very near term. and to address your final question... i wouldn't read a blog that i found uninteresting. frankly, i'm puzzled why you do. mary
