Some serious action going on in Jonathan's blog, people.

Gotta check it out.

So you know that big snowstorm that hit the northeast US this weekend.

In Armonk, NY there's no snow on the ground. Not even a dusting.

It all melted.

Check out Jonathan's blog.

You'll find out why.

It's one of the best blogs Jonathan ever wrote. Hit them hard gracefully.

It's funny that I just discovered this note after I spent a bit of time this weekend trying to get WebSphere Application Server 5.1 to run on Solaris x86 b72 on an old HP Pavilion. Had I known it wouldn't run (yeah yeah, I should have checked the HCL) I wouldn't have gone ahead with the several hundred MB download (and fixpack 1 download).

Last week I actually ordered an IBM xSeries 226 to run Solaris 10 (and hopefully WAS/DB2 on it) for development/educational purposes (what good is a SCSA if you don't use it...) and this was going to be the test run for that install. The real kicker is that I regularly check in on this blog but didn't see the post until after I ordered the new machine. Doh.

It's a shame, but I'll probably end up running SuSE on the box in the meantime (though I'm still not clear why WAS won't run with some tweaking under Janus...). But chalk up a vote for WAS on S10 x86 for me anyway.

BTW, views expressed are my own and not of my employer, etc.

On the other hand, lots of people in the blogosphere are suggesting that Jonathan is busy fulfilling "pot calling kettle black", if y'know what I mean...
