Laois vs Armagh, All-Ireland quarter-final, and to be honest a bit of a wash out if you are Laois supporter, the Armagh men were ruthless in their meeting with the O'Moore men, a score of 2-17 to 1-10, really does say it all. Ah well I suppose we always have next year to look forward to....
Sunday saw the second All-Ireland Hurling Semi-Final between Kilkenny and Galway, most people thought it was just a formality for Kilkenny to reach their third final in as many years, but the tribesmen had other ideas. They hit the ground running on Sunday so fast I think they still haven't stopped. Kilkenny didn't know what hit them !!, 5-18 to 4-18 being the final score, which is phenomenal ! For any team to score 4-18 at this level and still lose... Something that has not been seen to often before.
Galway will now face Cork in this years final. These teams have met 5 times in the All-Ireland final, 1928, 1929, 1953, 1986, 1990 with the Rebels winning all 5 outings. This should be incentive enough to dethrone the current McCarthy cup holders. Roll on September 11th, to what promises to be a cracking game of the fastest team sport on the planet !!
