Billionaires in Russia
Many people try to get to be rich using different way. Some people buy stocks, some create interesting ideas and open companies, some have very good results in sport. I'm always interested what's going on in my home country these days. This time I found some info that I want to share.
Recently I've looked at Russian financial magazine and found a list of top-720 rated billionaires in Russia. The article in Russian language you may find here. Sure, the reachest man in Russia is Roman Abramovich, owner of the soccer club "Chelsea" in Great Britain.
Number 1 Roman Abramovich, 538,2 billion of roubles or $18.700 million dollars
...
He is a well-known businessman in Russia, but I don't know him personally. So I continued to look through the list.
...
Number 544 Alexander Ladan, 1.2 billion roubles or $40 million dollars
Number 545 Vadim Sukharev, 1.2 billion roubles or $40 million dollars
These two guys were my students when I did my graduate studies at university and used to teach Math and Computer Science at Scientific Study Center in Russia. Now they are owners of a big food company in Siberia. To compare, a former NHL player, the general manager of hockey Olympic team Russia has the same amount of money:
Number 551 Pavel Bure, 1.2 billion roubles or $40 million dollars
...
I haven't find more Russian NHL players in this list. Ok. Let's continue to look.
...
Number 645 Andrey Bekarev, 1 billion roubles or $35 million dollars
I studied together with this guy at Physics-Mathematics School and Novosibirsk University.
Now he is co-owner of two banks in Russia.
Glad to hear the people I know really well have great success stories in their lives.
