I voted!

I voted by fax yesterday!

Actually my awesome admin Grace sent the fax for me - thank you Grace!

absentee ballot

I'm not normally one to say I'm proud to be an American, but I do feel that way today. And I'm proud of the fact that we're going to make history this year no matter who wins the election. I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow!

When I moved to Beijing, I registered to be a permanent absentee voter. My friend will fedex me the ballot and I will mail it back to the US.

I understand oversea US citizens can go vote at the embassy. Just never tried.

Are you voting as Californian (for all its propositions)?

Posted by Sin-Yaw Wang on November 05, 2008 at 01:36 AM CST #

I wasn't able to vote on the propositions since I'm not considered a California resident anymore. I wish I could have, I had some strong opinions, especially about Prop 8.

I've never heard of voting at the embassy. I'll see if I can do that next time. It would certainly feel more democratic than voting via fax, that was a complete let-down.

How is the secrecy of your ballot maintained over FAX?

Posted by Shubho on November 15, 2008 at 01:14 PM CST #

Shubho I had to sign a waiver giving up my right to secrecy since as you mention, it is impossible to maintain it when you vote via fax. But I was okay with that.
