gartner & idc report 2007

Gartner e IDC hanno finito i loro report per il 2007

entrambi confermano la forte crescita di HP e Dell

Gartner vede un nostro sostanziale mantenimento (in linea con la crescita complessiva del mercato), mentre IDC ci da un po' sotto.

invece per entrambi gli analisti IBM e' in ritardo rispetto alla crescita complessiva (ma come , e il Power6 che doveva fare sfaceli? ) 

 

 

Gartner Server market: 2007

IBM - $17B, +0.8%
HP - $15.5B, +8.8%
Dell - $6.26B, +13.2%
Sun - $5.91B, +3.5%
FujS - $2.47B, -1.5%
rest - $7.6B, -3.7%

total: $54.8B, +3.8% 

 

IDC server market 2007:

IBM $17,336m, +1.1%
HP $15,415m, +8.1%
Dell $6145m, +12.4%
Sun $5861m, +1.9%
FujS $2676m, -0.5%
rest $6988m, -3.1%

total $54,421m, +3.6%

a che(i) serve Itanium?

le performance previste della nuova piattaforma Nehalem sono decisamente molto buone.

se i tempi verranno rispettati nei prossimi anni ci sara' di che divertirsi....

le info che per ora circolano in rete parlano di

Bloomfield/Lynnfield Nehalem-EP (Native Quad-Core) Q3 08
(sistemi 1-2 socket)

Dunnington (Native Hexa-Core for old FSB) Q3 08
(sistemi 4 socket)



Nehalem- (EX Beckton) (Native-Eight-Core-Nehalem) H2 09

molto interessante il fatto che il Nehalem con 8 core e' previsto solo per sistemi big iron.... e itanium??
