Monday August 30, 2004 Polling the comments on Slashdot
There are some interesting comments over here at /. As I'd blogged about before, it's always interesting to me to see what people are saying.
It's particularly funny to me that there are some comments saying that the deployment can't be for anything important. Are those posters suggesting that running what is likely an outdated copy of Windows is better? Or are they instead suggesting some other Gnome/Linux combination is so vastly superior that JDS shouldn't even be considered.
At least the good news is that many of the posts are positive. I'm sure that was a hard fought win for the Sun team working with NHS. I'm also sure they had to test a bunch of non portable apps on varying solutions. I'm sure they'll get there soon though, and NHS will begin to see the benefits.
