Another inappropriate use of windows

Okay, so I've created a new category. Mostly because I keep coming up with what I think of as interesting pics with the phone. If you don't think they're interesting, then go read someone else's stream of consciousness.

This one is probably replicated all over the web in varying forms, but I'll post it anyway.

So there's this kiosk thing in the lobby of the building I work in (obviously not a Sun building). It has these two flatpanel touchscreen noisy PCs in the corner that no one ever uses just in case you have no clue what floor you're going to. Every once in a while, it displays one of these:

For a closer up view:

Now is the part where I rant about this inappropriate use and question what the appropriate use is. But instead I'll just leave that up to all of you to do for yourselves. :)

The sad part is this isn't only in this kind of rinky-dink operation. I've also seen this on the big LED billboard on the MGM in Las Vegas and on the big LED board along I-405 in Carson. Oh, and those were BSODs.

I have similar pictures, one from IKEA and one from a hotel room on-tv menu.

it get's really scary when the place you see this is the elevator going up to your hotel room - and you have the BSOD on the info screen/control panel ...:(

Happened to me in a hotel in Madrid - and yes, I did get out of the elevator alive (obviously :-)
