JavaFX at JavaOne

Well, the news is out. As you all know by now, JavaFX Script has been announced. It's in it's infancy and will evolve rapidly, but definitely worth looking at.

Please join me at the JavaFX hands on lab. It's lab 7280 on Thursday at 3:50pm in the hands on lab room. We'll have a kick-off by the lab author and JavaFX's creator (if scheduling works), then some labs for everyone to go through.

Hello Matt, I don't have any other way to contact you except via your blog. So hopefully it's ok to do this here. I met you at my first time to the the Unix User's group in El Segundo at the Sun Offices. You convinced me to try out Solaris so I am but I am not having much luck. ZFS sounds really great but does Solaris work on a Dell 2900 using a PERC 5i raid controller? I keep getting no drives found. I found these while googling about it: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5109908&start=15 http://www.tapodi.net/~jda/solaris/perc5-solaris.html - there's a solution here but since this is my first Solaris box here I don't have sun studio or solaris running to compile this. Is there anywhere that I can find a repository of alternate Solaris drivers or do all the available ones come with the DVD ISO I downloaded from the Sun site? Thanks and sorry for the intrusion on your blog, John Brahy

Hi John,

I've just sent you an email offline. Another resource for this sort of thing is the help discussion list over at opensolaris.org/os/discussions

Thanks for trying OpenSolaris out-- sorry you've run into a driver that's not part of the base OS-- luckily there's an Open Source solution.
