Why people don't take the Metro in LA

According to the LA Metro Website, with a combination of busses and trains, there is no way to get to Hollywood/Vine in 4 hours from El Segundo.

Somehow I think this is probably wrong, but making sense of it with this map is pretty much impossible.

Take the Green Line from El Segundo station (or one of the other two stations in El Segundo, whichever is closer) towards Norwalk; transfer to the Blue Line at Imperial/Wilmington heading towards 7th St./Metro Center, ride it all the way to the end, transfer to the Red Line there, get on it going towards N. Hollywood, get off at Hollywood and Vine. Two train transfers, so it may take a bit, but surely not 4 hours.

I have never ridden the LA Metro in my life. I looked at the map to which you linked, and quickly came up with the same route that jfruh did above. (I am reading with google reader and did not see the comment). Looking at the timetables at the LA Metro site, it seems that it should take just over one hour if you make all the connections. Probably adds another half an hour if you miss them. I grant you, looking at the map online is frustrating since it has so many layers and takes so long to refresh. But it is doable.
