OK, this is "somewhat belated." But it's better than nothing.
On Saturday, August 13, the Conviviality Community Theater and Entertainment Company performed Space Monster on Danger Beach (that's me in front, the aforementioned space monster) to a packed house.
Really packed. In six years, the largest audience had been 70 people. We filled the 100-person theater, and turned away more than 30 people.
And it was amazing. Lines that had never been correctly delivered in practice flowed trippingly from tongues. One shot special effects worked flawlessly. Audience members laughed at all of the appropriate times, with more sincere gusto than I had imagined possible. And some folks even worried that I had actually hurt my friend Grady in our big fight scene.
I can't wait to see where we go with next year's production. This was fabulous.
