Wow.  I spent a couple days (Monday and Tuesday this week) backpacking in the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area.  It's pretty much in my backyard, since I live in Nederland, CO.  Where we have a Frozen Dead Guy, but that's a different story.

This story is much shorter, and involves no deportation.  It's just to say "We saw a moose!"  How cool is that?  I have been hearing about moose up here for years, but managed to convince myself that they (the moose) are all further away.  But as we stopped to put on rain gear on Monday, my hiking partner said "there's a moose behind you."  And sure enough, there was.  Ambling casually, maybe fifteen yards from the trail.  Sadly, we didn't get a picture.  But shortly thereafter, we saw a moose track on the trail.
