If you go through Darren Moffat's Weblog you would have noticed that he provided a very helpful script that uses GNOME's zenity dialogs to provide a simple GUI for SMF. If not the particular entry can be accessed at: Darren's SMF GUI I found it quite useful and added it to my Gnome menu.

After using it a while I ended doing a bunch of improvements to the original script so that it shows more info about the services and allows more control. The script can be downloaded here: zsvcadm++ After downloading do the following: mv zsvcadm.txt zsvcadm ; chmod +x zsvcadm; ./zsvcadm
