IAB Europe ha presentato la versione aggiornata del Rapporto annuale AdEx che include le previsioni di andamento del mercato dell'advertising online a livello europeo, elaborate dagli analisti della società di ricerca Screen Digest sulla base dell'effettiva spesa pubblicitaria sostenuta dai 19 Paesi membri dell'associazione.

Nel 2008, l'advertising online è cresciuto del 20% rispetto all'anno precedente. Tuttavia, in alcuni dei mercati più maturi colpiti dalla recessione - Regno Unito, Paesi Bassi, Norvegia e Svezia - la crescita ha subito un rallentamento significativo nei primi sei mesi del 2009, mentre i mercati meno sviluppati hanno continuato a registrare tassi di crescita a doppia cifra. Tra questi, l'Italia conferma le sue previsioni di crescita al 10,5%
