Brew HaHa : Do Something Different in Bangalore Today!
Bangalore on a Wednesday evening.
You have finished watching all movies of interest between last Friday and now. You are sick of shopping. Dont want hours of mindless conversation about nothing. What do you do?
Hang out at a mall?
Go home?
Ummm. Thats about where it stops.
Folks. HEAD TO "BREW HA HA"
Brew Ha Ha is a cafe with a difference. I stumbled onto it thanks to a friend from BITS, Pilani - Bhaskar Borah. On the face of it , the place looked like any other cafe. Situated next to JNC(Jyoti Nivas College) at Koramangala and I was like "Oh thats why the guys know this place...", when I was handed the 62 board game menu.
They have a wide range of games to choose from. Since there were four of us we started with Coda. At the staffs suggestion of course. It is a game where you try to guess and calculate and get your opponent to reveal all his pieces numbered 1 to 13. It was a a good beginning. Its the kind of thing you are reluctant about at first but you get hooked onto.
Next we played squint. Which is like pictionary with pre-defined shapes. Eg. you may get to show "Pregnant woman" and you would have to show it with a straight line and a circle. We thought it would be boring. But we ended up playing for an hour and laughing our guts out!We then tried a Mensa award winning game which was a fitting thing to end with.
We had been there for 3 hours!!!
The food is good too. I loved the Quiche! Absolutely sinful amount of cheese. YUMMMM!
I went back. Two days later.
This time I happened to run into the twenty something owner of the place - Sriram. He is an IIM A graduate who gave up a plum job at a fantastic place to do his own thing. He started Brew Ha Ha with a college junior on 14th Feb, 2007.
We sat around on bean bags. Played Quarto and another card game. This time stuff which was ideal for two people. I had a fantastic time. I intend to keep going back again and again.
I love Brew Ha Ha
