My Garmin NUVI 200 US Version can search Thai !!!
After I bought GPS Garmin NUVI 200 (US Version) from US several months ago, using with Thailand Street Maps v8.0, I cannot search [Points of Interest] in Thai, although I modify the device configuration to use Thai keyboard. But just today, I upgraded the firmware to version 4.40 including necessary configuration files (.gtt) from Garmin website using WebUpdater. I found that my Garmin can now search in Thai without any problem. That was great!!!
Can you easy switch between Thai and English ? I got the Nuvi 200W

I modified the .gtt files and separate each file for upper key and lower key. So change is just click the mode and select between English, Thai upper and Thai lower. It is not convenient as NUVI Thai version which has <SHIFT> key built-in. However heard the news that Taiwan version of Garmin can fully support Thai keyboard.

I see you are still using the old maps V8. I have V9 Thai and V9 English plus you can upload spokrn or written languages on the Nuvi from garmin
