After I sold my old Garmin nuvi 200 with the same price I have purchased, I decided to go for newer model, Garmin nuvi 205W which has wider screen and better user interface. Actually I am also looking at the high-end model like 765T but it seems that I may not able to utilize all features (e.g. TTS, lane advise).

For 205W, Thai language / keyboard is also working especially "QWERTY" style keyboard can be used with Thai because [Shift] key is available. In addition, this model also feature 3D basemap with elevator (altitude), Animated vehicle, Trip log and "Where Am I ?" feature.

Comments:

Hello,

I just bought this model in the States and was just wondering where could I get a Thailand map for this model for what price?

Thank you,

Hi,

City Navigator Thailand map used to be available via Garmin website (www.garmin.com). But it is an English version and already discontinued. If you prefer Thai version, please kindly contact ESRI Thailand (http://www.esrith.com/contact/Econtact.htm). The price should be around THB7,500 (US$ 200).

BTW, ESRI Thailand will launch new version (Version 9) very soon.

Just found discounted price at Amazon several weeks ago. It is around $180 exclude shipping. Not sure whether it is still last.

PS. I bought it at $249.99.

Add these two lines into \Garmin\Text\Thai.gtt in <hdr> section:

<upperkbrd>ฆฉซญฎฏฌฐฑฒณธผ็ฝึภืศูษ์ฬ๋ฮ๊โฤำๆ.()</upperkbrd>
<lowerkbrd>กขคงจชดตถทนบปพฟมยร่ล้วุสิหีอัะาเแไใ</lowerkbrd>

And don't forget to change keyboard style in system setting from QWERTY to ABCDE

Garmin Nuvi 205W is quite a popular GPS. You can get it for as little as $120 at http://www.woya.com/products/garmin_nuvi_205w_4_3inch_portable_gps_navigator_731730
