Creator Portlets and Interportlet communication

Question: Is it possible to develop IPC portlets for Sun Portal using Creator 2?

Yes. JSF portlets developed using Creator 2 can be used for IPC. However, to actually test the IPC feature, you will need to deploy it to the Portal Server. Creator does not bundle Sun Portal. It bundles Pluto, the JSR 168 Reference Implementation. Pluto does not support the IPC mechanism available in Sun Portal

Can you provide an example of how this is done? I looked into this and realized that the portlet needs to implement the PortletEventListener interface. How can this be done since Creator 2 portlets are always based on the FacesPortlet? Is there an easy way to change the portlet class and add the necessary entries to the sun-portlet.xml deployment descriptor?
