JSF - Portlet rant and pseudo portlets
The Aranea Framework development team have a rant about Portlets and JSF. This blog entry titled "Where JSF and Portlets went wrong…" criticizes both the JSF and the portlet specifications. Most of their concerns seem valid. And some will hopefully be addressed by the Portlet 2.0 spec
Another interesting java.net article, "Almost Portlets" talks about how to achieve limited portlet-like functionality without portlets or a portal server by using the JSP Controls Tag Library.
