Even more dying hardware
I wrote earlier that stuff around me seems not to hold toghether for long.
Things are not getting much better though. The exception is the iBuddie notebook who was hit be Debian and lives since then very well.
However, my beloved SpeedTouch 510i (not manufactured anymore ) has finally given up. Its middle diode started to blink red which means that POST failed. After opening it up it never came back to live. RIP.
Then, I decided to put Linux on my iPaq 1910 and for long time I thought I made it a brick, but to my surprise, it is alive again. I'll post more on this later.
Since then I had bought 2 ADSL modems out of which I gave one back. It did not work with Fedora 6 or Ubuntu but only Windows so it clearly was a no go. It's not exactly 'dying' of HW, but somehow it feels like DOA (Dead On Arrival) so it must be included here
.
My TV set started to whistle a bit last week, so expect it to make it to the HW graveyard soon. As we say: we will see (unless we would not, of course, but then we won't).
