Firefox Search Plugin for NetBeans Issue Tracker

I mimicked a firefox search plugin created for GlassFish by Kedar to do the same for NetBeans issue tracking.

Get the NetBeans Firefox Search Plugin here

You will get a pop up asking if you want to install the plugin. Hit OK.

There is a small lag before the next window appears. Select Add and you are good to go.

Many Thanks To Kedar!

Cool. Am I right that it simply loads the issue whose number you type in the search box? Much faster than looking it up by hand, thanks! What about doing a description query when the field was not an integer.

Nitya:
Excellent!

Peter:
Yes, we should do that. Actually, instead of cluttering it with query, I am thinking of enhancing it with: accept a query -- if it is an integer simply return that issue -- if it is alphanumeric assume it to be the user-id as assignee and get all the issues assigned to him/her.
Is that better?

Different, yes. Better, I don't know, but not for me personally. The result you describe I can already get by going to netbeans.org, where I'm usually logged in anyway, and clicking <My Issues>, which actually is better customized than what you are describing would be. What I was describing is something that you can do with the existing UI, but is very cumbersome, in that you have to pull up a query page, disable some default settings, find the summary line amidst 100 some odd controls, enter the search text, scroll to the bottom of a 3-4 page screen and hit the submit button.
