Java BluePrints Solutions Catalog in Netbeans 5.5

The Java BluePrints Solutions Catalog integration in Netbeans 5.5 adds sample projects for AJAX, AJAX Components, Java Persistence API from the EE5 BluePrints catalog and a subset of sample projects from J2EE1.4 BluePrints Catalog.

The BluePrints solutions in Netbeans can be accessed from the File --> New Project wizard and also off the Help menu. The blueprint projects come with associated programming guides which provide the user with information about the project and best practices on the technology.

From the File --> New Project wizard, navigate to Samples --> Java BluePrints Solutions.
Yes, I know, I know, we found a real nice cosy hiding place. But once you get there, you will have a lot to play with. The various blueprint projects available are listed there.
See snapshot,

All the BluePrints projects that are included in Netbeans 5.5 are pre-configured. Choose the project that you want to test. The project opens along with an overview page that gives the description about the application.

I have a sample snapshot below with an AJAX component "PopUp Balloon" opened,

Now all you need to do is to hit 'Run Project'.
Voila!, The PopUp Balloon AJAX component is deployed and executed on the server. The browser is launched with the application loaded.

Don't forget to add the Glassfish Application Server in the runtime tab.
You can get it from here : Glassfish Download Page

Also remember, if you want to go through the various programming guides before you play with the projects, you can go directly to the Help --> Java Blueprints Solutions Catalog option. This will list all the various programming guides avaialable. There is also an option to create the project from this area without having to go to the New Project wizard.
