Below is the link to the updated GlassFish v3 TP2 download page, Installation Instructions, Quick Start Guide, and other documents.

It has the GUI-based installer for UNIX systems and Linux systems in addition to the GUI-based installer for Windows when GFv3TP2 was presented at Community ONE and JAVA ONE.  If the operating system is Solaris 10, then please make sure that the system has the following patch (from SunSolve): 119963-08 for SPARC platform or 119964-08 for the X86 platform.

The GFv3TP2 installation is straight forward.  The user needs to have JDK 5 or JDK 6 installed on the system.  For Windows OS, the user does not need to do any setup.  For UNIX or Linux,  the JAVA_HOME environment variable is required to be set prior to the installation.  The user just needs to click through several screens to install using the default values; otherwise, the user only needs to supply the installation directory and the HTTP port value if they need to be customized.

The product registration process is also simple; either an existing Sun Online Account or  an email account for new Sun Online Account is needed.  The user should register when  installing in order to get the latest product's information.  However, if the user skips the registration during installation, the user can use the Admin Console, which can be downloaded using the browser (i.e. http://localhost:8080/admin), to register later.

GFv3TP2 also comes with a new Update Tool (<install-dir>/bin/updatetool), which is also easy to use.  It is a GUI tool which the user can use to download the latest versions of various Application Server add-on components, i.e. GlassFish Support For Grails Framework, Jersey -RESTful WebServices, jMaki Ajax Framework, JRuby on GlassFish, etc...
