Chinese Localization for JDK Tools

JDK 5.0 Update 3 shipped today, and with it a new feature for Chinese developers: The JDK tools have been localized into simplified Chinese. The JDK thus joins other tools such as NetBeans and Java Studio Creator in recognizing the growing importance of the Chinese developer community. The localization is also available in JDK 6.0, starting with last week’s build B33.

The tools of the Java™ 2 Platform Standard Edition Development Kit (yes, that’s the full name of the JDK) are now localized into three languages: Simplified Chinese, English, and Japanese. The Java™ 2 Platform Standard Edition Runtime Environment (more commonly known as JRE) continues to be localized into ten languages: Simplified and traditional Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Swedish.
