Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Top-Ten Questions

In anticipation of the imminent release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, here are the top ten questions for which I hope to find answers or resolution in the final book.

  1. Whose side is Snape on? Is he truly a follower of Voldemort, really a loyal member of the Order of the Pheonix, just out for himself, conflicted, or playing both sides? I believe that whatever loyalties he currently has or has had in the past, he will redeem himself in the end, possibly by saving Harry’s life and in the process sacrificing himself.
  2. Why did Dumbledore trust Snape? While related to the first question, this point was emphasized so much in the last book that I think it will be important in this one.
  3. What will Draco do? He proved in the climax to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince that he wasn’t in his heart on the side of Voldemort. Will he redeem himself, as Dumbledore no doubt hoped?
  4. How will Wormtail repay his life-debt to Harry? Recall that Harry spared his life in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This debt has not yet been repaid.
  5. What is the meaning of Dumbledore’s "gleam of triumph"? Recall that this look occurred when Dumbledore discovered that Harry’s blood was used to resurrect Voldemort in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
  6. How will the prophecy be resolved? It states in part that, "…either must die at the hand of the other…" I think that Voldemort will be killed in the final book, but I’m not convinced that Harry will be the one to do it. Although not likely, I do think there’s a small chance the prophecy actually refers to Neville instead. Which brings me to…
  7. What will be Neville’s role? I think Neville will have a significant role to play in the final book – it will be interesting to see what it is.
  8. Who is R.A.B.? He claimed to have stolen one of the horcruxes. Speculation is that it’s Sirius’ brother.
  9. More information about Lily and the night of her murder? It seems like there are still some things we don’t know about that fateful night.
  10. Is there any more to Aunt Petunia? I suspect there are still a few things we don’t know about her.

Another question: Is Dumbledore really dead?? His was the phoenix, and he was one of two who figured out the philosopher's stone. AND it was a closed memorial stone...

for question #5- maybe it means that harry is a horcruxe and that voldemort can not kill him without killing himself because of the fact that harry helped him rise again.

I think Harry was a horcruxe, and voldemort has use his stored life from Harry. 3 to go.

DUMBLEDORE WILL NOT COME BACK. HE IS DEAD. i think that neville will play a very important role in the final book, but i also think he might die. hagrid will get killed off, im almost certain about that. i doubt that harry is a horcrux, and im thinking R.A.B. is probably regulus black.

First Of All - this prediction is completely random of me going out on a complete hunch and will probably make nooo sense and will anger many people First of all, I think several people will die such as some order members and some death eaters J.K. Rowling said that two major characters will meet there demise. I believe that the first one to die will be Ron while the trio are out searching for a horcruxe. After that Harry decides that it is too dangerous to continue to persue the horcruxes and look for an alternative route to beat voldemort. After seeking Enlightenment for professor slugworth who will probably leak out information he shouldn't have... this brings me to the title. The Deathly Hallows, i believe is an object, or a relic, that can beat voldemort. However, this path would seem almost as suicidal as the horcruxes... Hermione would step up and say "trust dumbledore" and persue the horcruxes instead.. after that, things go well for a while, and then on the final horcruxe (That ISN'T Harry) Hermione will die.... but they will destroy that horcruxe at least and maybe kill a couple of death eaters along the way (bellatrix) Like I said in my intro, many of you will be pretty angry with my prediction... After that, Ginny will push Harry forward not to give up hope... Taking the few remaining order members (Lupin and Tonks probably, and maybe mad-eye moody), as well as classmates like Nevil and Luna, (and Ginny will sneak along), Harry prepares and goes in to the Final Showdown with Voldemort and his crew... and in epic style Voldemort will die, and the only death eater I predict escaping will be Lucius Malfoy (that @$$), With limited time, Harry will ask any of the surviving good team members - i think Nevil or Ginny (Ginny would be extremely reluctant since she shows up at the last second - but would make a corny ending) Harry will ask one of them to Kill Him, since he is the Last Horcruxe and must die so Voldemort can never return. And thats that story Other predictions include a little bit of Romance in the beginning chapters, and maybe a corny demise of Ron dying in Hermione's arms. Lupin will kill wormtail.. that should be pretty cool, oh and Dumbledore is dead - not coming back, however it would be cool if he did, though that won't happen… oh and maybe before Hermione dies – she kills Draco Malfoy, that would be funny, and Ron can get Crabbe and Goyle – but that probably won’t happen And the big one - Is Snape evil? Look into those baggy eyes and still face... can you tell? The answer is NO. I believe that Snape has really been working for Voldemort the entire time, but while on his assignment at Hogwarts had softened up a bit, and will in the end probably contribute to the death of Voldemort.. maybe by dissarming Voldemort (Expilliarmus - or however you spell it), and in the end he will probably vanish, unless confronted by lupin, in which he would probably win that fight, but, thats a pretty random prediction for Snape With the Potter Series over, all that will be left is like insane debates or discussions about the book, because I believe J.K. Rowling will leave a few Cliff Hangers like.. what happens to certain surviving characters, or the trio in the afterlife... but who knows We'll have to find out for ourselves on Saturday

i think that harry is a horcrux himself and that the scar created on harry's forehead is its mark. This makes sense becuase this could be why harry and voldimort are so alike becuase harry has part of voldimorts soul inside him.

i also think JK will make nevill turn bad becuase of nevil feels that harry has always over shadowed his parents death and made it look as though they weren't just as heroic as harry's parents(or somthin like that)this will make nevill kill harry at the end. This will kill voldimort becuase Harry will be his final horcrux left. This will also fulfill the phroficy

Wow. The idea that Harry was a horcrux never occurred to me. If a snake could be, I guess a person could, too. That thought certainly sets up an interesting ending. As for Dumbledore: I reread book 6 this week. Dumbledore has a smile on his face after his fall from the tower. That's intriguing. Even more intriguing: When his body goes up in flames, Harry thinks he sees a phoenix flying off into the clouds--just for a moment, then he thinks his eyes were playing tricks on him. My other observation came from book 5. There, they were talking that maybe dividing the houses by type was perhaps not a good idea--that perhaps there was strength in a unified diversity. I note that Harry speaks Parseltongue, making him a natural for Slytherin (where the hat wanted to put him, the very first day). Hermione belongs in Ravenclaw. Neville is Hufflepuff material. That leaves Ron as the only undiluted Gryfindor candidate. Neville's role is about to be determined, but I'm betting that is the unification of their talents that proves to be the strongest combination--and that henceforth the houses will be mixed, to help students learn about the most powerful force of all--acceptance of others (aka love). :_)

Oh yeah. More questions: * Who is "R.A.B", who wrote the note in the pendant. (I'm betting it's Rufus Albus DumbleDore"!) * What became of the real locket/horcrux? (When Harry sees it the first time, he notes that it's smaller than the one remembers seeing in the cave. Thereafter, he talks about it as though it were the real one.) But if R.A.B. is really Dumbledore, and he broke the original horcrux, when did he have time to find or create a fake and write a note?

How did Harry come back after Voldermort cast the death spell on him?.. how did he survive? Any answers... im still wondering

Vanshi - because Voldy had used Harry's blood to remake himself (in GoF), that very same blood which had Lily Potter's protection spell on it, so in effect, Voldy became a make-shift horcrux for Harry.. not quite, but sort of.. Harry couldn't die when Voldy was alive with Harry's blood in him.. but the killing curse did kill the part of Voldy's soul which had been graphed to Harry during the first kill attempt.. very interesting twist, I thought.

WOW. Some of u have VERY, VERY, bad predictions. R.A.B. is Regulus Arcaturus Black. Harry is indeed a horcrux. And Ron and Hermione get married as do Harry and Ginny and Lupin and Tonks. Fred, lupin and Tonks die and Harry is godfather to Lupin and Tonk's son Ted. Snape is actually good. He loves Lily Potter even though she is dead. Dumbledore was already dying when Snape finished him off. Harry does not kill Voldemort. Voldemort is killed by his own rebounding curse. Harry saves Draco's life twice and Narcissa saves Harry's.

I really like this book.I think this is the best book yet out of all the books I read.Im a great reader,and I love to read. Anyways Harry Potter and the deathly hallow is amazing.

she cant be a squib, both her parents are muggles. i read the most interesting theory on mugglenet. she said that sirius did everything to "disappoint" his parents, not be a Black. he hated his pureblood mania family. well, wat if he dated a muggle girl to make them more mad? it wouldnt hav lasted. but seeing as sirius ran off to liv w/ the potters, the potters & evans could hav gotten together a lot. theres a spot wen petunia says she heard "that awful boy telling her" about dementors. everyone assumes the boy means james, but it could be sirius.
another theory i read was if aunt petunia taugh muggles studies. this was VERY interesting... it went into detail about how harry is only safe in the place he calls home, which would also be Hogwarts. to keep this place safe he had to work w/ magical blood, lily's sacrifice. petunia might hav had to stay at hogwarts to protect harry. we know hermione has kept secrets from harry in the past wen she was forced to (OotP). i think this is very possible...
