"By turning the spotlight onto these outstanding Practitioner Pros to
Know, we are not only recognizing their accomplishments but also
offering them as role models for other executives looking to take their
own organizations to a higher, more strategic level within the
enterprise," said Andrew K. Reese, editor of Supply & Demand Chain
Executive.
Eugene and his team developed Sun's "One-Touch Supply Chain" - a program
that spans all aspects of the fulfillment supply chain, from order entry
through to customer acceptance. They worked with vendors to streamline
and automate the company's manufacturing process, enabling suppliers to
ship products directly to customers and thereby reduce the need to plan
and hold stock in a distribution center.
This new model increased the predictability, reliability and speed of
shipments to customers, while saving Sun money: logistics costs have
been reduced by 20% and finished goods inventory has been reduced by as
much as 40%. Sun's One-Touch Supply Chain was named the winner of
InformationWeek's Innovation category in the 2006 InformationWeek 500
awards. Read the article here.
