Over the past 25 years, the April Fools prank has become a
time-honored tradition at Sun. This year's small team of pranksters relocated
the offices of CEO and President Jonathan Schwartz and CTO and EVP of Research and Development Greg
Papadopoulos to a shipping container in the middle of Sun's Menlo Park,
California campus.
"Project EcoBox" is a variation on Sun's popular Project Blackbox and has been specifically designed for "C" level
executive occupancy, complete with office equipment (solar-powered
telephones and Sun Ray thin clients), a loft bed, an eco-friendly
toilet, an energy-saving Wolf® 30" Double Easy-Bake rackable convection
oven, and a portable patio with hot tub and bistro set. This new
Open Work office environment truly demonstrates Sun's commitment to
flexible officing.
More information and photos of Project EcoBox are available here. Highlights of Sun's pranks from the past are available here.
