The Official Site for Breaking News and the Latest Information from Sun On The Record

Wednesday Jun 13, 2007

I met four very bright engineering students from China, Brazil, Russia and New Jersey yesterday on the Sun campus in Menlo Park. They are Sun's Campus Ambassadors, recruited to evangelize open source technologies on campuses throughout the world.

It was really gratifying to hear about the impact Sun has had on these students' lives. They have been able to connect with other Sun Campus Ambassadors worldwide (there are 180 of them) and to participate in many open source communities and events, broadening their perspective and experience and their knowledge of open source technologies.

Rafael Vanoni from Brazil said yesterday: "Open source is the future. Companies cannot stay away from it unless they want to lose market share."

The students will be in the San Francisco Bay Area for a week to meet with Sun visionaries. Here is a photo we took at Sun’s Executive Briefing Center, compliments of Mary Grush of Campus Technology. Here is Mary's interview with Dinesh.
