This week, Sun and DotHill celebrated the 100,000th shipment of the Sun StorageTek 3000 family.
The 100,000th unit, shipped to New Jersey-based reseller Innovativ, was
a Sun StorageTek 3510 Fibre Channel array. The press release is here.
Both the Sun StorageTek 3510 and 3511 arrays have been part of a number of interesting customer deployments, including one for Paramount Pictures. Sun provided the infrastructure behind their animated feature, Barnyard.
This milestone is just part of the good news when it comes to Sun's overall growth in disk storage. According to IDC's latest figures, Sun delivered double-digit revenue growth year over year -- growing faster than IBM, HP, EMC and Dell.
