Look for Sun Microsystem engineers at this week's SNIA Storage Developer Conference. Sun will be providing several talks leading off with Jeff Bonwick's "The General-Purpose Storage Revolution" keynote.

The SNIA Storage Developer's Conference is the only conference to focus on the issues important to storage developers, architects, and engineers. It's co-located  with the CIFS and iSCSI 2007 Plugfest. Attendees can also get direct experience with Sun's open storage approach at the Hands-on Lab featuring OpenSolaris ZFS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel technologies running on Sun's general purpose Thumper data server (aka Sun Fire X4500).

Sun is leading the charge to bring storage developers together to enable storage innovation. Starting in April with the launch of the OpenSolaris Storage community, Sun continues to donate the source code for it's industry leading storage software implementations including pNFS, iSCSI management server (iSNS), and the Common Multiprotocol SCSI Target (supporting Fibre Channel targets and the like) to the OpenSolaris project.
