New JavaFX Compiler project launched today over at openjavafx on java.net. As part of the JavaFX Compiler project, Sun is releasing initial source code for the JavaFX Compiler under GPLv2.

The JavaFX Compiler is a JavaFX to JVM-byte-code compiler built on the same infrastructure as Javac.

This is the first time a compiler from Sun will be developed & designed with full participation from the community.
